GME - MT410G

Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacons (EPIRBs) and Personal Locator Beacons (PLBs) 406 MHz.

NOTE only to be activated in life threatening situations (grave and imminent danger) when out of mobile range or can not contact anyone locally for help.

If you accidentally set off your beacon, turn it off and let AusSAR know as soon as you can on 1800 641 792 to prevent an unnecessary search.
They will need to know the following:

1. Your PLB's 15 character Unique Identifier Number (UIN), which is marked on the units body.
2. Date, time and duration of activation.
3. Cause of activation.
4. Location at time of activation.

There will be no penalty for accidentally setting it off.
Deliberate misuse may well result in the unnecessary deployment of valuable Search and Rescue resources and could incur a severe penalty.

NOTE analogue 121.5 / 243 MHz distress beacons will no longer be detected from February 2009.
ONLY digital 406 MHz distress beacons will be detected and can be used now.
